Health and wellbeing

Change 4 life

Helping people to be healthier, happier and more fulfilled is a key priority in North Lincolnshire.

Here you will find information about what help's on offer, and also how to improve your own health and well-being.

People in North Lincolnshire have never enjoyed better health and we are living longer than ever before.

On average a North Lincolnshire man can expect to live to just under 77 years and a woman to just over 81 years.

This longer life expectancy is the result of a lot of work to stop people dying early from our biggest killers - heart disease and cancer.

However, compared to the national average, North Lincolnshire has higher levels of smoking and obesity. These are important factors in stopping people enjoying a good quality of life as they get older. This is because they increase the risk of many conditions including diabetes, cancers, chronic lung disease and heart disease.

To improve your health and wellbeing, we need to give you the support you need to continue the improvements seen in recent years.

We recognise that healthier lifestyles shouldn't be imposed on people and therefore we want to support, advise and encourage you in this goal.

You can find lots of help and information for your immediate health needs on the NHS Direct website.
