Sale of second hand goods

As a trader, it is your responsibility to ensure that all the second hand goods you sell are safe.

We have produced a safety advice pack to help you do this.

The pack includes quick reference A4 sheets that will help you identify possible unsafe goods. They can also be used as checklists to help demonstrate your procedures for ensuring that all goods you supply are safe. These checklists are, however, just summaries of things to look out for - for full details you should seek advice from Trading Standards.

You can download the pack below. Alternatively, contact us and we will send you a copy through the post.

Second Hand Goods Safety Advice Pack (338kb)

Don't forget, if you sell second hand goods, you may need to register as a dealer in second hand goods with Trading Standards.
