Recycling containers
Wheeled bins and containers are collected every fortnight and are available to recycle:

What can you recycle in the glass bin?
Glass bottles and jars - all colours. (Please do not include light bulbs, Pyrex type dishes, drinks glasses or window glass)

What can you recycle in the paper bin?
Newspapers, magazines, junk mail, catalogues/brochures, telephone directories, yellow pages and all other white paper. (Please do not include cardboard, envelopes, sticky labels or highly confidential shredded paper - please use a secure contractor or visit our confidential waste pages for details of the council's confidential waste service)

What can you recycle in the plastic, cardboard, cans and foil bin?
Plastic - you can recycle plastic drink bottles, milk bottles, cosmetic bottles, washing up liquid and detergent bottles and any plastic container that bears the logos below.

Any cardboard - including cardboard packaging/boxes, document wallets, any coloured card, toilet/kitchen roll tubes, greeting cards, file dividers and folders. (Flatten all boxes and please remove all metal parts and sticky or parcel tape.)
Cans - aluminium and steel drink cans, food tins, clean aluminium foil including foil food trays (please rinse out all cans and tins before placing in the bin)
Compost bins

Schools are also invited to apply for a free compost bin. Please phone the Customer Helpline on 01724 297000 to order one.
