Bulky household item collection service

We run a special collection service for up to three bulky household items such as TVs and furniture.

We provide only one free collection per property in any financial year (1 April - 31 March). Any further requests for collections in the same financial year will be charged at £14 for up to three items.

Please call 01724 297000 to arrange for the collection of any bulky items of rubbish.

What can be collected

  • Three piece suite (three items)
  • Bed (three items - bed base, mattress, headboard)
  • Bicycles
  • Carpets (rolled and tied)
  • Cooker (including microwaves)
  • Dishwasher
  • Doors
  • Fridge (must be cleaned inside and free of food)
  • Fridge/freezer (must be cleaned inside and free of food)
  • Garden gates (standard)
  • Headboard
  • Hi-Fi equipment
  • Ironing board
  • Lawnmowers
  • Mattress
  • Televisions
  • Wardrobes
  • Washing machines (including Tumble driers)
  • Wheelbarrow.

What cannot be collected

  • Aga Cookers
  • Asbestos
  • Bathroom Suites
  • Boilers
  • Car Batteries
  • Car Engines/Gear Boxes
  • Cardboard
  • Construction/Demolition Materials
  • Drums containing liquids (any)
  • Empty Drums containing the residue of hazardous substances
  • Excess Household Refuse
  • Fencing
  • Garage Doors
  • Garden Waste
  • Glass
  • Kitchen Units (e.g. sinks, cupboards)
  • Loose Brick Rubble
  • LPG Gas Cylinders
  • Motorcycles
  • Oil Storage Tanks
  • Paints
  • Radiators
  • Replacement Windows
  • Sheds
  • Wood.
