Spatial planning - minerals and waste

North Lincolnshire Council is the Minerals and Waste Planning Authority for the area. It prepares development plan policies to deal with future minerals and waste developments. These policies form part of the North Lincolnshire Local Plan. This was adopted in May 2003.

However, a new process has just started that will eventually replace this plan with a document called the Local Development Framework. This will also contain policies for minerals and waste. It will be used to determine where development takes place for the next 10 to 20 years.

The council intends to produce a Waste Development Plan Document. Details of the timescales for preparation can be found in the Local Development Scheme.

Planning applications for minerals and waste development are handled by the Development Control team.

The council is member of the Regional Technical Advisory Body for Waste and the Regional Aggregates Working Party.

For more information on waste and minerals policy, please contact the Spatial Planning team.

For matters relating to planning applications for minerals and waste development, please contact John Chapman (Senior Planning Officer), Development Control Team, on 01724 297447 or via email john.chapman@northlincs.gov.uk.
