The Local Development Scheme sets out a timetable for preparing North Lincolnshire's Local Development Framework. It explains which local development documents will be prepared, by who and when, with the important dates covering initial preparation through to adoption.
It explains the purpose and scope of each local development document and their roles within the Local Development Framework. In addition, it explains the strategic and local planning context within which the local development framework is being produced, including the transitional arrangements from the adopted local plan to the local development framework.
A key role for the Local Development Scheme is to set out 'consultation milestones'. The 'consultation milestones' indicate those times when the local community and key stakeholders can get involved in the preparation of the local development documents. Such involvement is a cornerstone of the local development framework system. Details of how the council will involve local communities and key stakeholders can be found in the Statement of Community Involvement.
The LDS will be reviewed and rolled forwards on an annual basis. This is to take account of progress on the programme and monitoring of the evidence base and adopted policies.
