Statement of Community Involvement

Community involvement is a major part of the Local Development Framework (LDF) preparation process.

The Statement of Community Involvement (SCI) sets the standards and approach that North Lincolnshire Council takes to involve stakeholders and the community in the production of the Local Development Framework (LDF), as well as the handling of major planning applications.

The aim of the Statement of Community Involvement is to:

  • Help ensure community ownership of the LDF.
  • Strengthen community involvement in planning.
  • Involve stakeholders and the community in the production of the Local Development Framework.
  • Improve the overall representation and involvement across all sections of the community.

North Lincolnshire Council has published an updated version of the SCI for consultation. It has been updated to take into account changes in the regulations from the publication of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008.

The statutory consultation period runs from the 25 November 2009 to the 13 January 2010.  The updated SCI can be viewed online using the Lime House consultation portal web site. You can see the revised document at the following council/local link offices during normal opening hours:
