The council helps with reclamation projects as they are often central to the
regeneration of the economy. The council selects, determines the priorities,
and provides finance at an appropriate level for these projects.
The council is responsible for the implementation of its reclamation schemes.
Design work on reclamation schemes is undertaken by engaging engineering consultants.The construction work is undertaken by the appropriate civil engineering contractors. The council commissions design work from either its own in-house consultancy or from private sector companies.
