Food safety
The council's environmental health food and safety team:
- Ensures food safety;
- Inspects food premises - from the local corner shop to food factories;
- Investigates food complaints and food premises complaints;
- Damples food and water (both public, drinking and leisure) and private supplies;
- Investigates infectious diseases and tries to prevent their spread;
- Promotes health and food safety;
- Gives advice.
There are about 1,700 food premises in North Lincolnshire.
North Lincolnshire Council will also introduce a new Scores on the Doors scheme from November 2008, enabling consumers to find out how well local food businesses are complying with food law.
