Visits to farms and zoos can be fun and educational for children and adults, but animals carry diseases that can be passed on to humans. By taking some simple precautions the risks of getting a disease can be greatly reduced.
Following the recent outbreak of E coli O157 and the subsequent closures of Godstone Farm in Surrey and White Post Farm in Nottinghamshire, North Lincolnshire Council's Food and Safety team has contacted the Pink Pig Farm in Holme, Elsham Park and Shepherd's Place in Graiselound, and given advice and information to the operators.
