Home energy conservation
More than 30 per cent of the UK's emission of carbon dioxide comes from the energy we use for heating, lighting and appliances. Carbon dioxide causes global warming.
However, this energy is not being used efficiently, and is being wasted. It has been estimated that households in the UK waste an average of £250 a year on energy. In doing so this also emits two tonnes of carbon dioxide.
The council has an energy efficiency officer on hand to provide advice on ways to save energy in the home. This includes information on grants and discount schemes available. You can contact the energy efficiency officer on 01724 297587 or e-mail HomeEnergy@northlincs.gov.uk.
