Diffusion tubes

Diffusion tubes are small plastic or metal tubes that collect a sample. They are placed around the North Lincolnshire to monitor nitrous oxide emissions. The council removes the exposed tubes and replaces them with fresh ones once a month. It sends the exposed tubes to a laboratory for analysis. The results are used to compare whether air quality is improving.
