Inclusive Education

The council aims to keep young people in mainstream education. It does this by encouraging young children and students to participate in all aspects of education.

It is concerned with equal opportunities for all young people. This applies whatever their age, gender, ethnicity, attainment and background.

The council does not view diversity as a problem. It is a resource to help young people in their learning.

Inclusive education aims to achieve better outcomes for young people. It focuses on students at risk of exclusion or poor attainment. More details on the support available for children and their families is available on our Inclusive education page.
