Catering staff

We have considerable experience in providing school food for pupils. All school meals in North Lincolnshire are prepared daily, from scratch, using fresh - often locally sourced - ingredients, by a local workforce of approximately 400 skilled catering staff.

Our workforce is sourced from the local community and we recognise that the quality of our service relies on the quality of our catering staff. We are fortunate to have a hard-working, dedicated, workforce who have a passion about their job. All newly recruited staff have to complete medical clearance and also have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.

Our entire workforce is trained in food hygiene and given opportunities for further training. Most recently, all cook supervisors and servery supervisors were successful in achieving a certificate in nutrition and health.

There are many benefits of working for the School Meals service:

  • Working hours to fit around family life
  • Excellent rates of pay
  • The opportunity for future training
  • Good working conditions
  • Rewarding work

You can see our current vacancies pages for all the latest council jobs available.

To work for us on a casual basis, please phone the schools catering office for more information on 01724 297910.
