Benefits for North Lincolnshire

BSF will transform the way our pupils learn, giving them the best possible opportunities in life. The new schools will also become the centre of the community, benefiting the local community as well as staff and pupils.

Schools are committed to providing an extensive extended provision. This will provide opportunity for adults to be able to attend evening classes and families will enjoy sports activities together at weekends.

Benefits beyond buildings

A common digital platform (CDiP) will connect all of our schools to allow learners to access high quality learning materials. This new technology, supported by state-of-the-art ICT infrustructure, extensive new hardware, software and pupil ratio of 1:1 devices will make learning more relevant to the needs of a young person growing up in the 21st century.

It will also provide quick and effective communication between staff, pupils and parents. Teachers will be able to access the latest teaching material, share ideas between schools and help hard to reach pupils. Students will have their own personal web space for portfolio and coursework. All this will be accessible from home.

Personalised learning is the way forward

BSF will introduce a new personalised learning agenda called ''earning anywhere, anytime'. This means every student will have a curriculum to suit his or her individual needs. This will create unique stepping stones to new opportunities, to develop the abilities and ambitions for every pupil. Parents will also be able to communicate with school and check the progress of their child. ICT will play a critical role in supporting this vision.

BSF extends into the community

The £91m will extend the new facilities into the wider community. It will give schools a fresh start to explore new ways they can work with local people and expand on their extended schools programme. This will give members of the community access to learning facilities that in the past did not exist. These include high quality new technology, performing arts and sports facilities.
