Pre-school

The council is committed to promoting high standards of childcare that meets the needs of parents and children in North Lincolnshire.

Under the Government's early years programme, all four-year-olds are entitled to three terms of free part-time education from the term following their fourth birthday. A place must be available for at least two and a half hours a day, five days a week for a minimum of 33 weeks. Some three year- olds are also entitled to free part-time places.

Parents may choose to send their child to a nursery class in a primary or infant school, or to a provider registered with the Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership (EYDRP).

For further information on early years settings, please call the Child Information Service on 01724 296629 or visit the Kidslincs website.

Childcare Sufficiency Assessment

In response to the Government's National Childcare Strategy, the council is implementing plans for the development of early years and childcare services. In order to make sure we have enough high quality childcare available to meet parents' needs, we have conducted a Childcare Sufficiency Assessment for 2008.
