Music Support Service

The purpose of the Music Support Service is to actively support the education of young people in the community through the development and provision of high quality music teaching.

The Music Support Service provides instrumental lessons on string, brass, woodwind, percussion instruments and guitar within the school environment throughout the whole of North Lincolnshire. It also provides class based instrumental learning for KS2 through the wider opportunities programme.

The instrumental lessons are usually of small groups (between two to four students) or on occasion as individual sessions. The charges made to schools for these lessons are then calculated and fees to parents organised by each school.

Pupils are normally withdrawn from their timetabled school lessons to receive instrumental tuition and this is, whenever practically possible, provided on a rota system to minimise timetable disruption. Pupils are encouraged to complete any school coursework missed due to instrumental lessons.

For more information about the Music Support Service please contact Miss Erica Hardy (acting head of service) on 01724 854926. The MSS clerk is available on this number, (mornings only) during term time and there is a 24 hour answer machine.
