The Music Support Service works in partnership with pupils, parents, teachers, governors and schools. Through the delivery of high quality music teaching, the service aims to nurture and inspire students in a musical environment and ultimately present them as active participants in North Lincolnshire's musical community and beyond. This is achieved through:
-
Instrumental tuition in schools
-
Pupil participation in ensembles and resulting performance opportunities
-
Internal and external examinations with nationally recognised exam boards
-
Concerts and workshops in schools
- Staff support for classroom music, curriculum support and GCSE / A - level
requirements
-
Vocal opportunities and the primary music celebration
-
Delivery of the Wider Opportunities Programme in schools
Wider Opportunities aims to allow every child access to learn to play a musical instrument at KS2. This is delivered in a whole class approach and involves a variety of music making activities including singing, playing, rhythm and activity games, listening and composing.
It is designed to provide a strong basis for music education and instrumental learning. This initiative is proving to provide a solid foundation for the child's musical future.
