Recommended reading

Recommended reading for tots-to-teens and their parents based around body science, relationships and sex education.

Why start early?

Reading with a parent or carer and learning about their bodies, teaches children that it’s ok to know and talk about their bodies. This early dialogue helps the development of their views, it also helps protect them from sexual abuse and has been shown to delay the onset of early sexual activity.

This list has been researched and compiled by North Lincolnshire Teenage Pregnancy Partnership and BigTalk Education in consultation with North Lincolnshire parents and professionals plus school councils at Brumby Engineering College in Scunthorpe, Huntcliff School in Kirton Lindsey and The Garage Patch Kids. Our thanks to everyone involved!
