Practical Family Support Service

The Practical Family Support Service (PFSS) is aimed as a low preventative provision. This is for parents or carers who want to access support for a wide range of concerns. It is also for people who are not receiving high-level support via a social worker.

The aim is to address needs before they escalate to a more formal crisis intervention. This is done by offering practical support and assistance to families who have at least one child aged between five and 13 years. The families must be experiencing difficulties and live in North Lincolnshire.

The PFSS takes a holistic approach to families' needs. It gives support by creating individual action plans with the family concerned. It also suggests other agencies that may be able to help. The service is confidential and ensures that dignity is maintained. It also ensures confidence is respected at all times.

The service can provide support within a family’s home or at an alternative place if needed.

In addition, the service also provides weekly parent information surgeries, parenting groups and play therapy sessions.

If you would like more information about the service or you would like to make a referral please contact the PFSS:
