This course is designed to assist learners who are looking for work now, or in the future. It aims to give learners the tools to effectively look for and apply for job vacancies.

Any level.

Course aim:

To give learners the tools to enable them to look for work, apply for vacancies and stay in work.

Content and learning outcomes:

The course will cover the following topics:

  • CV builder - two sessions
  • Letter writing
  • Effective jobsearch
  • Analysing vacancies
  • Application forms
  • Confidence building
  • Interviews
  • Sustaining employment
  • Career options / personal development.

By the end of the course the learner will be able to:

  • Create a CV or modify a previous one
  • Write a covering and speculative letter
  • Jobsearch effectively
  • Analyse vacancies
  • Complete application forms
  • Feel more confident about the job seeking process
  • Be more prepared for interviews
  • Consider sustained employment, career options and personal development.
