North Lincolnshire Council provides a wide range of education services from pre-school through to adult education.
The council’s education and children’s social services have long been ranked among the best performers nationally. But with the advent of the Children Act the two services are now being brought together to improve the services we offer to our children and young people, so as improve their life chances.
There are 82 schools in North Lincolnshire. Fourteen hold Specialist School Status.
Councils in England had to appoint a director of children’s services by April 2006. We appointed Richard Stiff who started work on 1 March 2006.
The director of children’s services post means both the social care and education side of children’s services are brought together to deliver a more integrated and effective service.
