To make the council a success we need to work together with a consistent culture.
A culture change group promotes continuous improvement in the culture of the council and the wellbeing of its employees. It has developed a common understanding of culture and a strategy for delivering it.
The culture change group has found out people’s views through surveys and focus groups. These views are built into the following set of culture principles:
- effective leadership
- a listening and learning organisation
- mutual respect
- fair reward and recognition
- healthy work-life balance.
These culture principles are being adopted throughout the council. A new culture will not happen overnight but will emerge over time.
