Mayor

Cllr Ishaq Jawaid MBE became the thirteenth Mayor of North Lincolnshire on 14 May 2008 at the council's annual meeting.

He is the first ethnic Mayor ever to be elected in the whole of the Humber region. He serves on the Crosby and Park ward and has a special interest in community activities.

Cllr Jawaid's Charity Appeal Fund supports The Royal British Legion (North Lincolnshire Ex Services Personnel Welfare Fund) and the Zia Siddique Foundation.

The Welfare Fund provides social and emotional support to local residents who have served and are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants.

The Zia Siddique Foundation works in AJK and Kashmir in Pakistan. The organisation aims to improve socio-economic indicators in remote areas of Kashmir. It focuses specifically on rehabilitation activities following the disastrous earthquake on 8 October 2005.

The Deputy Mayor is Cllr Susan Armitage.
