North Lincolnshire Council is undertaking a review of the way it trades with its suppliers for the procurement of supplies, services and works. This is part of the wider modernisation programme for the council. The Government has set specific targets for councils on the use of electronic transactions in the procurement process.
Taking advantage of technology will bring benefits both to the council and its suppliers. This is by streamlining the processes for purchase ordering and payment. The council also intends to improve the way details of contracts to be let are made available, and to make the process for submitting quotations and tenders as simple and easy as possible.
An example of a simple change is the issuing of purchase orders by email rather than by post or fax. The use of supplier's websites for selecting and ordering items is also an option that will be considered.
If you are an existing supplier it's important we establish your views on trading electronically and the options that are available. Assessing your capability for using electronic transactions will help us identify what the appropriate process is for you currently. And it will help identify what development you have planned to increase your capability. Please fill in the questionnaire below to give your views.

Completed questionnaires can be returned to the council's Corporate Procurement Unit, Pittwood House, Ashby Road, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire, DN16 1AB.
Alternatively you can complete and submit the questionnaire electronically.
If you're a new supplier and want advice on trading with council please refer to the supplier guide.
