Anti-Fraud, Theft and Corruption Strategy
We want to protect council money and property. This includes protecting it from those who try to steal or misuse it.
The council has a budget of around £207million. This includes capital expenditure and money financed by:
- central government grants
- charges for services
- business rates
- council tax.
We want to make sure that this money is used in the way it was intended. Our policy allows anyone to report suspected fraud, theft or corruption. This can be done anonymously and in confidence.
