The Whistleblowers' Charter allows and encourages people with serious concerns about council money or property to raise them with the council. They can do this confidentially and without fear of reprisals.
These concerns may be about something that:
- Is unlawful.
- Is against council’s Standing Orders or policies.
- Falls below established standards or practices.
- Results in waste or loss to the council.
- Amounts to improper conduct.
The charter, which forms part of the council's Anti-Fraud, Theft and Corruption Strategy is available on this website.
