Anti-Fraud, Theft and Corruption Strategy

We want to protect council money and property. This includes protecting it from those who try to steal or misuse it.

The council has a budget of around £207million. This includes capital expenditure and money financed by:

  • central government grants
  • charges for services
  • business rates
  • council tax.

We want to make sure that this money is used in the way it was intended. Our policy allows anyone to report suspected fraud, theft or corruption. This can be done anonymously and in confidence.

If you want to report any concerns that you have, please call the ‘hotline’ on 01724 296666 and speak to one of our trained staff. You can also email us at: Hotline@northlincs.gov.uk or fill in our online report of suspected fraud form.

The council's Audit Committee approved the Anti-Fraud, Theft and Corruption Strategy in January 2007. It is available to download:
