The council's finance service provides a wide range of financial services across the council.
The service supports the council by providing financial advice, guidance and assistance through accountancy, procurement and audit and risk management units to ensure the council makes the best use of its finances. The service also provides a key public interface through the local taxation and benefits service and key financial processing services such as payroll, invoice payments, billing, debt recovery and e-trading.
The service is responsible for the overall management of the council's net revenue budget of £278m and is broken down into four divisions -
