Elections and voting

Every day members of parliament and local councillors, who are elected by the public, take vital decisions affecting all our lives. You can help choose who these people are by voting in elections.

You can only vote in elections if your name is on the register of electors. The council prepares the register every October. It sends out forms to every household in North Lincolnshire to give all eligible voters the chance to be on the register.

The council also updates the register every month between January and September. This is known as rolling registration. It allows people who have moved house or been missed off the register to be added much quicker.

To find out if you are registered to vote call electoral services on 01724 296245 or email elections@northlincs.gov.uk.
