Diversity
Diversity is about valuing people as individuals and harnessing differences
and potential - meeting needs creatively. Diversity is organisationally driven
- the work we undertake to achieve equality outcomes.
Our
policy statement:
"We
each have our own unique needs, skills qualities and abilities. The council
believes this diversity must be valued. We want to make sure our services meet
everyone's needs. We will not unfairly discriminate on any grounds....."

Scheme 2009-2012)
Our

The
development of our Equality Scheme 2009-2012
-
Improved
partnership working
-
Improved
community engagement and involvement. This begins with the hosting of an
Local Strategic Partnership Equalities Stakeholder Summit November 2009.
-
Working
towards Investors in Diversity - a nationally recognised quality standard
-
Embedding
diversity for more equal outcomes in service planning and through diversity
impact assessment.
