We each have our own unique needs, skills, qualities and abilities.

The council believes that this diversity should be valued. We want to make sure that all our services meet the needs of everyone. So we treat everyone as an individual. And we will not unfairly discriminate on any grounds.

In 2008 the council will be reviewing its race, disability and gender programmes and strategies with a view to producing a single equality scheme covering all six strands of the national equalities framework.
