Decision making
Councils are changing and North Lincolnshire is no exception. New laws and local initiatives are giving people a bigger say in decisions on services. Remote and inaccessible councils are a thing of the past!
How the council operates
North Lincolnshire Council agreed a new Constitution on 26 April 2001.
All councillors meet together as the council in order to decide the council’s overall policies and set the budget each year.
Other key roles of council are the debating and approval of policy development, the consideration of scrutiny reports, the promotion of community engagement and the receipt and confirmation of meetings of the Cabinet and Committees.
Meetings of the council are normally open to the public.
All meetings of the council and its committees are arranged and supported by the council's Democratic Services section.
