Should the council sell advertising space?

This consultation finished in May 2008.

One of the council’s Scrutiny Panels carried out a review of the possible costs and benefits of selling advertising space on its website and in the residents’ magazine, Direct.

Doing this could raise income for the council. But there were questions of balance, set-up costs and less space to provide information to the public in Direct magazine.

The council asked local residents what they thought about external advertisements. All views received formed part of the Scrutiny Panel’s report.
