SPECIAL SUB-COMMITTEE ON THE APPOINTMENT OF THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (LEARNING SERVICES)

PRESENT:- Councillors Barkley, Dakin, Mrs Sidell and Whiteley.
Also in Attendance - Mrs A C Briggs, Headteacher, Henderson Avenue Primary School, Mr J Fitzerald, Headteacher, Winterton School.
The sub-committee met at Pittwood House, Scunthorpe.
1. APPOINTMENT OF CHAIR - Resolved - That Councillor Barkley be appointed chair of the sub-committee.
Councillor Barkley thereupon took the chair.
2. EXCLUSION OF THE PUBLIC - Resolved - That the public be excluded from the meeting for consideration of the following item (minute 3 refers) on the grounds that it involves the likely disclosure of exempt information as defined in paragraphs 1 and 2 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act, 1972.
3. POST OF ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF EDUCATION AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT (LEARNING SERVICES) - The sub-committee interviewed one candidate for the above post. Members had before them (i) the Job Description, (ii) the Employee Specification and (iii) Application Form.
Following the interview and detailed consideration of the applicant it was -
Resolved - (a) That the sub-committee proceed to make an appointment on the terms and conditions circulated, and (b) that Mr C D Lea be offered the post of Assistant Director of Education and Personal Development (Learning Services).
