The Young Carers Project is run by Kaleidoscope. Kaleidoscope is a purpose built resource centre for children with a special need/disability. It offers support to parents, carers and young carers. The centre provides free advice, information and support on a range of disability related issues to parents/carers and other childcare professionals. This includes advice on welfare benefits. The centre has a resource library. The library has:
- books - tapes - videos - internet access
There is a toy library with a range of specialist toys. Parents and carers can borrow items from the toy library.
Various parent support groups are run from the centre and it operates a volunteer scheme. Activities are organised that are suitable for children with a disability. |

Families can refer themselves. Statutory/ voluntary organsiations can refer families via telephone, letter, email or personal visit to the centre. |
