Partnership and Support to the Voluntary Sector
During October 1999 North Lincolnshire Council commissioned research to explore the capacity of voluntary and community organisations to take up and use funding from external sources in recognition of the
"important role that is being played by organisations and groups within the voluntary and community sectors in respect of securing a range of external funding sources for the social, economic and environmental benefit of North Lincolnshire."
The objectives of the research are detailed in the executive summary.
The research report was published in January 2000 and following a subsequent workshop commitments were made from a number of people representing key voluntary sector organisations to develop the action plan further.
In addition to completing the draft action plan the group agreed to continue meeting in a 'steering group' capacity to oversee the implementation of the action plan commitments, recording developments made in progress reports to be updated following each steering group meeting.
The group intends to meet on a quarterly basis until the action plan is either fully implemented or until its work is subsumed within another arrangement.
