Sources of funding for leisure

Finding funding for community projects can be challenging, as there is literally a maze of potential opportunities depending on your project.

The best chances of securing funding are for smaller projects developing new facilities or services.

Advisory support and guidance is available from North Lincolnshire council and its partner agencies to help you develop your arts, sport, recreation and community projects. Discussing your project with a funding advice worker is the best way of matching potential funds to your project and developing an action plan to achieve your project ideas.

The council has a small grant aid and sponsorship budget. The following is a brief introduction to the types of projects that the council would consider funding.

Grant aid to individual leisure participants

We can assist individuals who are:

  • Selected to either compete or perform at a national/ international level
  • Invited to attend a recognised centre of excellence.

Grant aid to organisations

We can grant assistance to organisations that are concerned with the promotion of sport and recreation opportunities. Grant aid will be considered where:

  • The organisation is based in North Lincolnshire
  • More than 50 per cent of the members live in North Lincolnshire
  • Services are provided for the benefit of North Lincolnshire residents.

For more information please go to the council's sports grant aid webpage.
