The European Commission approved the Yorkshire and Humber European Regional Development Fund Programme (ERDF) for 2007-2013 on 7 December 2007.
The ERDF Operational Programme describes how the region will benefit from £583m from the European Union's Regional Competitiveness and Employment Objective. The funding will boost economic performance in the region through investments aimed at increasing:
- Innovation
- Competitiveness
- Employment.
It has been developed by a strong regional partnership, including Government Office for Yorkshire and Humber and the Yorkshire and Humber Assembly, and outlines the broad strategic direction for investment of this EU funding over the next six years.
The programme strategy identifies four broad priorities for investment, three of which are for the whole region:
- Promoting innovation, research, and development
- Stimulating and supporting successful enterprise
- Developing sustainable communities.
Any legally constituted organisation or partnership from the public sector, local authority, higher and further education, and the voluntary/community sector can apply.
For further help and assistance
The Humber TA partnership will provide support to organisations in the region through:
- Mapping - identifying current ERDF bidding activity, and seeking out potential gaps and opportunities
- Information and events -to raise awareness of ERDF opportunities throughout the sub region
- Brokerage - identifying links, providing support and networking opportunities to organisations and potential consortia
- Partnership and consortium development - work with existing partnerships and developing new ones in response to strategic objectives.

- North Lincolnshire Council
- North East Lincolnshire Council
- Third sector
- Humber Learning Consortium
- Probe.
