CCTV

Security Control Centre

The North Lincolnshire Council CCTV Centre was established in 1996, looking after the people and staff of North Lincolnshire. Since it became operational the £1.1m CCTV system has caught over 1,400 criminals in the act. The cameras have also been an effective deterrent with crime halving in the areas they cover.

It is a modern, high-tech building that encompasses the very latest in monitoring technology.

 Security Control Centre

The centre has five main roles:

  • To manage the Warden Call System.
  • To monitor and record activity from the Town Centre Cameras.
  • To monitor the Fire and Intruder Alarms at council premises.
  • Controlling the entry to Sutton, Crosby and Princess Houses.
  • Handling emergency and out-of-hours telephone calls.

The Centre aims to:

  • reduce crime and fear of crime.
  • enhance crime detection and support criminal prosecution.
  • provide emergency response and reassurance to the elderly and disabled in times of distress.
  • provide safe living environment for residents of Princess, Sutton and Crosby Houses through controlled entry systems.
  • contact the Emergency services and key holders in response to alarm activation.
  • provide appropriate duty officer/contractor response to emergency and out-of-office hours requests for service.

The centre is manned 24-hours a day, 365 days per week. As you can imagine, centre employees have seen some rare sights on a Friday and Saturday evening - so if you’re out celebrating, just remember, you could be caught on camera!
