CCTV
Security Control Centre
The North Lincolnshire Council CCTV Centre was established in 1996, looking after the people and staff of North Lincolnshire. Since it became operational the £1.1m CCTV system has caught over 1,400 criminals in the act. The cameras have also been an effective deterrent with crime halving in the areas they cover.
It is a modern, high-tech building that encompasses the very latest in monitoring technology.
The centre has five main roles:
- To manage the Warden Call System.
- To monitor and record activity from the Town Centre Cameras.
- To monitor the Fire and Intruder Alarms at council premises.
- Controlling the entry to Sutton, Crosby and Princess Houses.
- Handling emergency and out-of-hours telephone calls.
The Centre aims to:
- reduce crime and fear of crime.
- enhance crime detection and support criminal prosecution.
- provide emergency response and reassurance to the elderly and disabled in times of distress.
- provide safe living environment for residents of Princess, Sutton and Crosby Houses through controlled entry systems.
- contact the Emergency services and key holders in response to alarm activation.
- provide appropriate duty officer/contractor response to emergency and out-of-office hours requests for service.
The centre is manned 24-hours a day, 365 days per week. As you can imagine, centre employees have seen some rare sights on a Friday and Saturday evening - so if you’re out celebrating, just remember, you could be caught on camera!
