Searching for local graves

The Bereavement Services Office has the statutory registers and plans for the nine cemeteries in North Lincolnshire that the council is responsible for. These cemeteries are:

  • Barrow
  • Barton
  • Brigg
  • Brigg Cemetery extension
  • Brumby (Scunthorpe)
  • Crosby (Scunthorpe)
  • Frances Street (Scunthorpe)
  • Scawby
  • Winterton
  • Wrawby-cum-Brigg (in Brigg).

Members of the public are allowed, by the Local Authorities' Cemeteries Order 1977, to look (search) only in the Burial Registers. This can be done during normal opening hours at the Bereavement Services office. There is no charge for this.

An alternative is to apply to have the search carried out on your behalf. A charge is made for this service. Please check the cost before applying by calling 01724 747555.

For information about graves in other cemeteries in North Lincolnshire contact the relevant town council, parish council or church.
