Children and Young People's Service improvement plan - "striving for excellence"
In North Lincolnshire we are ambitious for our children and young people, and we want them to be the best they can be. To help achieve this, we set high standards for our services, settings and schools so that they 'strive for excellence' and be favourably compared with other authorities.
We want staff across our services and in settings to act upon their safeguarding responsibilities and to 'think family' in their approach to support families. We will support children, young people and families through transitions and we will prioritise vulnerable children and young people in relevant plans and provide them with services and support to give them an equal chance to succeed. We will support children and young people to be involved in decisions that affect them, give them feedback and offer opportunities for them to voice their views and make a difference.
We will deliver our services within the single organisational model to meet partnership ambitions, new financial challenges, national performance and policy changes and as part of this, all our staff will be inspection aware and all managers of regulated services will be a resident inspector.

Individual Service Area - service improvement plans
The council's children and young people's service is made up of three service areas: learning and improvement, localities and partnerships and specialist services.
Each of these service areas have individual improvement plans.

Children and Young People's Service - learning and improvement excellence strategies
North Lincolnshire's vision – we strive to make North Lincolnshire a place where all children and young people have the best possible start in life and are involved in shaping the future. Safe children and young people, supported families, transformed lives.
These strategies reflect the ambition to achieve the values adopted by our children's trust and implemented through the learning and improvement service:
"Every child and young person should have the opportunity and support to reach their full potential in a complex multicultural context."
The strategic intentions of the Children and Young People's Plan:
"A shared ethos of aspiration so that all children and young people achieve their potential."
It is our aspiration in North Lincolnshire that these strategies will ensure all children and young people have access to first class education and training, and all learning settings will be rated good or better by 2012, and all schools will aspire to be outstanding.
