Urban Renaissance Management Team

The council is committed to delivering an Urban Renaissance in Scunthorpe by helping to reposition the town over the next 20 years and enabling it to become an effective economic driver for North Lincolnshire.

The Urban Renaissance Management Team consists of the Area Renaissance Manager and Urban Renaissance Administrator. Based at Church Square House in Scunthorpe the team provides the secretariat for the Town Team and manages the delivery of the renaissance programme. This is to ensure that the programme is on schedule to achieve its aims and objectives and that the projects deliver within contract requirements.

Fundamentally the Urban Renaissance is about trying to make the town more successful and more competitive.

Projects:

Having a vibrant town centre is one of the main transformational projects. Consultants and the Town Team, have identified this and suggests four actions on how to create a vibrant town centre.

These are:

  1. Promoting and developing the centre of Scunthorpe as an attractive, distinctive and well performing destination
  2. Intensifying and diversifying the town centre by promoting mixed use
  3. Improvement to public realm
  4. Developing a cultural quarter
