North Lincolnshire economic profile

The local economy was established on traditional industries such as steel manufacturing and agriculture. Over the last twenty years the economy has changed and new expanding sectors have emerged.

With excellent road, rail, sea and air connections to the rest of the UK and Europe. Our ports can boast some of the deepest channels and offer major shipping routes to Europe. This makes better access for bigger ocean going cargo ships for the import and export business.

And our geographical position gives us a unique advantage for the distribution and logistical point, making North Lincolnshire a natural Global Gateway to and from the UK and Europe. We are home to two international airports, Humberside and Robin Hood, offering businesses worldwide access for both tourism and air freight services.
