Markets

Here in North Lincolnshire we have a great tradition of markets stretching back over 800 years. From our vibrant general markets in Ashby, Brigg and Scunthorpe to our two FARMA-accredited farmers' markets you'll be spoilt for choice.

People in the know are rediscovering their local market for great value, great quality and great choice. Our traditional butchers can offer every imaginable cut of meat and can inspire you with recipe ideas. The choice fruit and vegetables can rival the largest of supermarkets!

Instead of spending your free time queuing at supermarket checkouts, why not check out your local market? You'll get service with a smile and find some fantastic offers of the day too, with the best produce at the best price.

But it isn't all food. Whether you are treating yourself, pampering your pet, planning a wedding or simply enjoying your favourite hobby - you can be sure that you'll find it at one of our markets.

There's a real buzz to market shopping. Get to know our friendly traders and you'll be the first to hear about seasonal offers and new recipes. Catch up with friends over a coffee or just watch the world go by. Bring the family to enjoy our regular events... our markets make shopping an enjoyable experience!

Isn't it about time you rediscovered market shopping?

Market days

Could you become a market trader?

We have vacancies at our general markets for a variety of market traders. Rents start at less than £10 for a stall at Ashby Market on a Thursday.

If you are interested in a stall at one of our general markets, visit the market stall vacancies page.

Producers interested in taking a stall at one of our Farmers' Markets should call the Principal Tourism Services Officer on 01724 297356.

New craft, flea and collectibles stalls at Ashby market

Have you thought of taking a stall at Ashby Market on a Thursday to sell your crafts or collectibles? We are looking to increase the number of crafts and collectibles on sale at the market with a view to developing a Craft, Flea and Collectors Market alongside the popular general market.

This is an outdoor market but you can rent a fixed stall for just £9.14.

We also have larger units and lock-ups available at affordable prices. The market is open every Thursday and attracts hundreds of shoppers.

To find out more call the Market Operations Manager 01724 297815.

Speciality markets

Specialty markets are also held during the year. For details see our events pages.

Markets - cleaning
