Non-domestic business rate (NNDR) bills are payable by monthly instalments. This is on the condition that you pay each instalment by the due date shown on the bill. Failure to pay by the due date will result in recovery action being taken. The right to pay by instalments may be withdrawn and the full balance may become payable immediately.
You can pay non-domestic business rate bills in full by the first instalment date shown. You can pay half-yearly making the first payment on the first instalment date and the second instalment on, or before, 1 September each year.
1. Direct Debit - the easy way to pay your bill
Direct Debit is the preferred method of payment. It is cheaper and easier for the council to administer and thus helps to keep non-domestic business rate bills down.

If you wish to start paying by Direct Debit please print out the attachment and complete, or contact the non-domestic business rate unit for a Direct Debit instruction. Email nndr@northlincs.gov.uk or telephone 01724 296095.
2. Swipe card or barcode rate demand notice
Your demand notice or payment card can be used when making a payment by cash or debit card at any Post Officeรข or shop that allows PayPoint payments. Hand over your demand notice or card and your payment. Your payment will then be processed and your card or demand notice returned to you, together with a printed receipt to confirm your payment. Make sure you get a receipt for every payment.
3. Standing Order
If you wish to pay by Standing Order you should contact your bank or building society direct.

You must quote your non-domestic business rate account number. Please note when paying by this method you must ensure your standing order reaches the council by the first of every month. Failure to do so will result in a reminder being issued.
4. Online
Information about paying via the internet can be found on our online payments page.
It is possible for non-domestic business rate customers to make payments via the Internet with a debit or credit card. There will be a charge for using a credit card.
5. Postal remittances
You should send your bill and payment to:
North Lincolnshire Council,
Civic Centre,
Ashby Road,
Scunthorpe,
DN16 1AB.
The bill will be receipted and returned to you. Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to North Lincolnshire Council and crossed. Third party and post-dated cheques cannot be accepted. Payments should be sent in time to ensure receipt by the due dates.
Failure to pay by the due date may result in court costs being incurred.
